Austin Partners in Education (APIE) recruits, trains and places volunteers in Austin classrooms as classroom coaches and mentors.
Volunteers are needed for this school year! Last year more than 1,500 volunteers had an organized and enriching experience providing more than 3,500 AISD students with personalized attention, and academic support.
Volunteers are the heart of Austin Partners in Education. Please choose to be a part of a child's life in so many meaningful ways by volunteering this year.

How Classroom Coaching works
- Volunteers select the day of the week, time and location that works best for them from the list on the APIE website.
- APIE provides training and curriculum support materials to ensure Coaches' success. Coaches don't need to be subject matter experts, just caring and supportive of students.
- During weekly coaching sessions, the class is divided into small interactive groups of 2-3 students per coach. Sessions last 45 minutes and run for about 24 weeks per academic year.
